CDT Coordinator (Secondment Cover)
Applications are invited for the secondment cover post of CDT Coordinator who will also act as Assistant to the Co-Directors of the Whittle Laboratory in West Cambridge.
For 50 years the Whittle Laboratory has been one of the world's leading propulsion and power research laboratories. Construction is now well underway on the new Whittle Laboratory which will house the Bennett Innovation Laboratory, the National Centre for Propulsion and Power, and the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Future Propulsion and Power. The CDT is a collaboration between the universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Loughborough and several major industrial partners in the sector. The combined budget of the CDT and its associated research contracts is in excess of £20 million.
You will provide administrative support for the CDT as well as supporting the two Whittle Laboratory Directors, both operationally and with the development of the Whittle Laboratory. Working alongside the CDT Directors and other members of the team, you will be responsible for managing and developing strategy for the course communications, support systems and other processes to ensure the successful delivery of the course. You will also assist the Directors of the Whittle with the co-ordination of the transition to the New Whittle Laboratory building.
The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or equivalent level of practical experience, be an experienced user of Microsoft Office and have experience of financial management. Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential requirements for this role together with experience of working in an administrative/project management role.
Temporary cover: This is a secondment cover position and will be for 12 months or the return of the post-holder, whichever is sooner.
