HR Administrator

The Roles:

There are three fixed term positions available until 28th February 2026.

As an HR Administrator within the HR Shared Services (HRSS) you will be responsible for providing all HR transactional administration relating to employees' terms and conditions throughout the life cycle of their employment, processing transactions in a professional, efficient and accurate way ensuring that a high level of service is received by new and existing members of the University. This includes (but is not limited to) contractual documentation, leave administration, redundancy calculations, employment references and payments and outcomes from regular exercises such as contribution reward schemes and academic career pathways.

Joining a friendly and supportive team, working with the HR Administration Manager (and Deputy), this role develops and implements the documented procedures of the team and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.

About you:

In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with:

  • Experience in an administrative role within a service orientated environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have in depth working experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of administering high volume processes to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to work to a high degree of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
  • Evidence of strong communication skills in a variety of methods.
  • The ability to plan your workload while also adapting to changing priorities.
  • Experience of working independently as well as working as part of a team and being able to take initiative to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Elements of this role are suitable for hybrid working, where staff can split their time between in-person collaboration and remote working. The frequency of the remote elements of the role can be discussed with the recruiting manager.
