Research Culture Project Manager (Fixed Term) Internal Secondment Opportunity


Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.

The post is available to internal candidates only on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.

The University is working on ways to improve research culture and has set institutional priorities for its Research Culture Strategy. As part of this work, a broad programme of activities at both the institutional and local level is being developed, to support research culture change.

The Research Culture Project Manager will support the Head of Research Culture to develop the emerging research culture strategy for the university. The role holder will lead the development and delivery of a programme of activities, resources and projects to facilitate a broad engagement in research culture activity across the collegiate university. They will also lead the evaluation of this research culture activity. Working with the Research Culture Community Manager, they will increase internal engagement in research culture activity and build an external profile of the work taking place at Cambridge for audiences such as future research employees, funders and other key sector stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the research culture agenda both at the University of Cambridge and more widely across the Higher Education sector. You will probably already be working in a role which involves the development, delivery and evaluation of activities that support research culture change, or will be able to demonstrate this level of experience of through your professional activities. The role would suit someone who is organised and able to support the management of a large number of projects of varying scale and ambition across different departments and disciplines. The ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the university is essential.
